The mysterious customer service

Customer service is one of those things that has become mysterious.
In our civilized world of churning processes like sales over at a hurtling speed ,
Many large companies ( and small ones ) take their eye off the ball .
If a company just wants to grind out sales as quickly as possible,like a production line....
Then the customers will suffer.
So a lot of customers don't expect too much in the way of quality customer service.
It becomes a mysterious vapor that sometimes exists, but most often is just floating around somewhere ( not near the customers ).
Companies are novices in this field.
Consistent Training is not occuring.
The employees who deal with the customers have a strange ego centric notion that they are number one and the customer is down the list somewhere.
It's a clear failure of most companies.
They need to get training in how to train their employees who deal with customers.
